Drupada Macdonald began his spiritual search in 1981 at the age of 22, when he began studying the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. By the age of 23 he moved to Ananda Village in California, founded by Swami Kriyananda, based on Yogananda’s teaching, and the practice of Kriya yoga. Also at this time he began his study of astrology. In 1989 he moved to the Ananda Assisi center in Italy, where he began to give astrology readings and classes. Since 1995, Drupada has been a full time astrologer, having given over 10,500 readings. His goal is to use the sacred stellar science as a guide for spiritual growth, and transformation. He now resides in Nevada City, California, and travels extensively to give classes and astrology readings.
Drupada has made a deep study of both the philosophy and the calculations of Vedic astrology. He has studied the writings of prominent astrologers, with special emphasis on the writings and teachings of Sri Yukteswar, Paramhansa Yogananda, and Swami Kriyananda (author of Your Sun Sign as a Spiritual Guide).
Drupada's approach to astrology centers on the potential he sees in each horoscope for personal growth and for overcoming the specific karmic patterns that are most actively present in this incarnation. He is an extraordinary Vedic astrologer, a deep soul and in this convo he connects the fundamentals of Vedic astrology, the chakra system, and how we are all part of this divinely orchestrated Universe. This is such a beautiful conversation that will spark your hearts especially if you have studied any type of astrology, esoteric wisdom, kriya yoga, or are just metaphysically curious.
